Early on they saw the demand for IP-enabled payments rise in response to an increasingly active Internet and recognized the need to provide merchant customers with the means to capitalize on the emerging world of online commerce. But Scotiabank also determined that developing their own solution would be both expensive and filled with uncertainties.
The Solution

Paymentech found E-xact’s suite of online payment processing gateway technologies to be the perfect fit for their needs. E-xact was able to provide its range of desktop and web-based tools with their visual branding and in all the languages supported by Scotia services.

E-xact also provided Paymentech with its own unique URL to those services so that the customer experience was never compromised by the appearance of a 3rd-party identity.

All of the actual processing and technology maintenance remained with E-xact but was executed and supported transparently so that Paymentech customers were only dealing with Paymentech. That integrity was maintained even in support calls, where Paymentech addressed tier-one support needs and escalated tier-two needs to E-xact directly.

Through it all, the acquirer maintains control over the way E-xact services are provided to their customers by managing merchant boarding and having access to comprehensive audit trails and account activity.
