E-xact Transactions still has a few openings for strong Rails developers to help build our development team. We are located in Vancouver Gastown. If you love Ruby and Rails, are highly motivated and are looking for a great team then this just might be the right opportunity. We are looking for passionate developers who want to create innovative applications using the best of the newest technologies.
As well as Rails, we make use of the Trac Wiki environment using Subversion (SVN) and Jira as the change management issue tracking system. Communication throughout the company is fluid and IM chat-based. We support telecommuting and/or flexible working hours - we only care about the creativity, quality and quantity of work produced.
Basic requirements are:
- Ruby
- Ruby on Rails
- Linux/Unix
- SQL
- Apache/Lighttpd/mongrel
- Software Change Management (preferably SVN)
- Test-Driven Development
- Prior commercial OO development experience.
- CSS/HTML/Javascript - front-end technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Best candidates will bring commercial development experience going back at least a few years before Rails.
