E-xact Transactions is looking for a unique combination of software development skill: we need an experienced software tester who loves to write specifications, test plans, test cases and be responsible for the quality of our software products. The goal is to produce specs that provide the basis for development and the criteria for acceptance. This person has strong business skills, ideally in understanding the financial services sector, and obviously excels in technical writing. If you have a passion for quality development and understand the balance between clear specification and appropriate testing, then we have the coolest opportunity in town.
We’re in the process of moving our offices to the Yaletown area in Vancouver, situated right next door to the new Yaletown-Roundhouse Skytrain station. Our development environment is Ruby on Rails, Trac Wiki, Subversion, Jira issue tracking, and the Skype IM Chat to communicate when possible. We’re fun and dynamic and leave you alone to do what you love.
Basic skill set:
- 5 years experience in writing specifications whose audience ranges from business partners, customers, and developers
- 5 years experience in software testing showing dramatic evidence delivering high quality products
- experience in test automation, black box testing, white box testing, WATIR or any test automation product.
- comfortable examining code ranging from Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, C# - basically any language that utilizes web services for processing eCommerce transactions.
- disciplined allegiance to change management, bug reporting, source code controls, automated builds - all that good stuff that we know is needed.
We wonder if there is someone out there that has these skills. If you do, give us a shout.
