Quick-Key : High Performance Data Entry

Merchants with a high demand for fast data entry are turning to Quick-Key for their transaction entry needs. A large metropolitan Taxi company had to face long lineups of grouchy and tired cab drivers waiting for their shift receipts to be entered and processed by their dispatchers. With Quick-Key they cut their data entry time down by a minimum of 50% and, in many cases, up to 75%.

How it Works

No Cardholder Name Required in Quick-Key

The entry of a cardholder name has been skipped to increase the speed of entry; instead, and in order to satisfy card processing requirements, the text “RT Batch” is inserted into the Cardholder Name field for all transactions. Users wishing to enter individual cardholder names can use the regular POS entry mode.

Entering Transactions to be Processed

Transactions are entered using a point of sale that is similar to E-xact’s existing POS system, however since there is no need to key in the cardholder name, transactions may be added at a more rapid pace. The only details that need to be entered are amount, card number, expiry date, and optional reference numbers determined by the merchant.

Add/Remove

Once transactions are entered in bulk they can still be edited before clicking on “Process” by checking the box next to the individual transaction and editing the details in the “Transaction Entry” area. You can also delete a transaction by checking the box next to the transaction then selecting “Remove”.

Enabling User Access

Merchant Admins enable Quick-Key functionality for EACH user by going into the Login tab for the User in the Administration area of RPM and checking the box “Quick-Key Enabled”.

Batch Settings

Found at the bottom-left of the entry screen, this is where you identify the Merchant Account and Terminal desired.
